So now that I've taken a little break...

I'm baaaaaack! It's August 3rd and summer has flown by. We've checked out the waves in Santa Cruz California, and the mountains of the Manti-LaSalle National forest, but most of all we have had fun. It's been all about the simple things. Making s'mores outside under the stars, swimming and BBQing with friends, eating snow cones and just chillin' in general. I've also been super busy with my photography business and teaching scrapbook classes. It's all been a bit of a blur!

Crackbook... er, I mean facebook

A few months back my youngest sister "asked me to be her friend" on facebook. That's when the evil ensued. It should be called crackbook for people like me. It appeals to my nosy side definitely, but more than that, I have reconnected with old friends. Some I haven't seen or talked to in years (some people I could never see or talk to again in my life and that would be OK by me, but THAT - is another post). GOOD STUFF.

One of my favorite things about Facebook is that you can become a fan of things. Pretty much any thing you can think of, you can become a fan of like chips n' salsa or naps. And then there is flair. Remember all those buttons you wore on your cool, distressed denim jacket in the 80's? ie: I heart Duran Duran, Michael Jackson when he actually looked human, Cyndi Lauper, or if you were cool like me, Siouxie and the Banshees, Depeche Mode and Peter Murphy. ;) Sometimes they had stupid sayings or smartass remarks as well - I'm rambling. Anyways, on crackbook, you can send flair to your friends! What a productive way to spend my time!

Dylan's Christmas Surprise

OK. I realize that I am woefully late in posting this. After all, it's been nearly a month since Christmas, but I would feel extremely ungrateful if I didn't take the opportunity to thank my dad! He wanted to do this for my girl - which is HUGE!

If anyone deserves it, Dylan does. She is on the high honor roll and swim team, she actually is a huge help to me at home and she is considerate to boot! Definitely NOT your typical teenager! She has been through more than her share (for those of you that don't know, she has Crohn's disease) of health issues, I.V.'s surgeries and hospitalizations and has stayed the same cute girl through it all.

The thing is, Dylan had NO IDEA! It was so fun because my whole family was at my house. So Dylan gets this huge box from my parents and starts unwrapping it which leads to a smaller box inside and another and another... you get the idea. The picture of her holding the keys is priceless! She was so funny! I think Marley figured it out before she did!
Dylan was BLOWN AWAY and I think the rest of us were either bawling (me and my mom) or grinning from ear to ear.
SO FUN! THANKS DAD!!! It's more than generous!

She also got to go to New Orleans with her other grandpa to see the game of a lifetime! GO UTES!
So all in all a great year for Dylan.

There's no questions that times are tough right now, but all in all, I need to remember to count my blessings!

History is being made and we get to be a part of it. How cool is that?
Regardless of anyone's political views, I truly believe that he is what the world needs right now. No pressure or anything!

THANKFUL THURSDAY

It's been awhile since I've done "Thankful Thursday!"

Today I'm thankful for life's lessons, believe it or not.
They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and I feel like I'm getting just a little stronger every day.
I'm thankful for photos. Looking at photos - both old and new bring back such great memories!
I'm thankful for my friends. They help me, support and laugh and cry with me.
I' thankful for my Uggs. They just make me feel better. Period.
And I'm thankful for naps, because I think I might have died of exhaustion yesterday, but a 40 minute nap saved me.

Project 365... NOT!

Everyone who knows me knows I'm a scrapbook nerd - and proud of it. SO when I saw this kit "I squealed with excitement."
THEN the realist in me kicked in and I realized that I can't even manage to scrap once a month right now, let alone DAILY.
To all my friends who are religiously doing this: A: I'm jealous, B: I'm TOTALLY impressed. To make myself feel like I'm KIND of doing this I came up with a nifty little solution... PROJECT 12!!!! One page a month that gives a little peekie into the daily goings on around here. Perfect, NO? That way, if I don't take a picture every day, or if I have a particularly bad day, I can conveniently leave it out. SWEET! My life will look perfect...on paper!

Let's face it...

I'm not much of a blogger. I've given it the old college try, believe me, but it's just not my bag right now! Never say never, but I'm going on indefinite hiatus from blog land. So come say hi to me on facebook... It's the perfect fit for the anti photo re-sizing time crunched multi-tasking girl like me!
